In January 2009, the Peru Crew embarked on an adventure to Peru. We flew into Lima, where we stayed at Red Psycho Llama for a day and a night.

We spent three days at the Hospedaje Turistico Recoleta. While in town, we explored, danced, went clubbing, rode ATVs, shopped, and ate. We also met up with another group of friends who happened to be in Peru!

We got a free tour while in Cusco of the Sacred Valley of the Incas after arranging to bring a set of portable toilets (with patented "poo powder") from the US to Peru for SAS.

After acclimating to the altitude, we embarked on a 5-day hike of the Inca Trail with SAS Travel and our tour guide, Orlando. After climbing to the top of Dead Woman's Pass, surviving rain and cold, and of course some dancing along the way, we finally arrived at Machu Picchu!

After 5 days of hiking and camping and ten days in Peru, our return to Cusco was quickly followed by a visit to McDonald's to enjoy some much needed junky American food! Upon returning to Lima, five of our group sadly departed back to the US while the remaining four went on an unscripted tour of other parts of Peru

Traveling by bus and without plans or reservations, the long group survived the spooky hotel, sand dunes taller than mutli-story buidlings, scam artist cab drivers, and flocks of seagulls to find lots of fun and amazing things including sand surfing, the Islas Ballestas, and amazing seafood!

All in all, an amazing and unforgettable adventure... "Free pisco sour?"
